How To Save $$$

If cost is a concern, we've provided some tips here on how to save some money when designing your suit(s)!

  • Buy from the Standard Sizing Chart! If your measurements fall within one of the Standard Sizes offered by Sew Synchro, take advantage! This saves time on drafting a pattern and don't forget! Swimsuits are quite stretchy and forgiving. If you need help deciding if you can fit into the Standard Sizing, please don't hesitate to Contact Sew Synchro.
  • Buy multiples to keep the cost down! Working on more than one suit (same design but not necessarily same size) saves time, therefore money! It cuts down on the little things (like changing thread colours and pinning) by grouping more together. Thereby, an individual suit may be reduced by $20+ when ordering multiples (Number is for illustrative purposes, please Contact Sew Synchro to get a quote)
  • Limit the number/types of colours used and simplify the design! There is a minimum fee for each colour used (refer to Pricing for more info on how you are charged) and fancier fabrics tend to cost more. By using larger, simplified designs you can also lower cost because the time required to cut and sew each piece is reduced. Using minimal "fancy" or "sparkly" fabric, you can still get that WOW! factor.
  • Do not choose to have contrasting trim! Contrasting trim (usually around the top of the suit) requires more fabric as well as more time to line up edges. Depending on the suit, this can add another $20+
  • Think about your strap design! Multiple straps  can start to add up (but don't they look AWESOME?!) and wider straps can require more elastic which, in turn, costs more and requires more time to apply.
  • Limit how much lining you want! A fully-lined suit obviously requires more fabric and time to apply. Go for minimal lining (Sew Synchro does not charge fabric fee for gusset-only suits) unless the suit requires it (fabric and/or design choice can affect this) or the swimmer has very sensitive skin that might react to seams (from designs sewn on)
  • Use the standard finished edge! Sew Synchro uses the classic zig-zag finish to all it's edges. If you would like a double-straight stretch finish (2 parallel lines) it will cost an extra fee for the time required
  • Do not embellish! Or choose your embellishments selectively ... embellishments such as rhinestones and sequins add extra cost for materials and time. Resin rhinestones are less expensive than Swarovski crystals, but are considerably less light-catching. Consider using a sparkly/shiny fabric in your design instead to make it POP!
  • Reorder! Sew Synchro keeps an individual file for each customer, so you can reorder the same suit with ease! The basic drafting is done already, so if there are no changes, there are no drafting charges! Minor alterations may only add a few dollars!
